Lasisi Babatunde Damilare, also known as Zuma, is a visual artist. “I specialize in Painting and use different mediums such as oil paints, watercolour, charcoal and conte.”
Speaking about his art, he says, “My love for Art started at a very tender age, I had always loved drawing a lot but didn’t take the love for it any further or was I planning to go professional until I was gained admission to study Fine Art at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where I got influenced by other passionate students. I started learning how to draw and paint from them.”
He draws inspirations from the works of his masters; Mr Abiodun Olaku, Mr Joshua Nmesirionye, Mr Ejoh Wallace, Mr Bimbo Adenugba amongst others. He also studies the works of Susan Lyon and Rembrandt.
He is further inspired by what happens within and around him; “my thoughts, feelings, childhood and adulthood experiences and sociological commentaries.”
