Simeon Omamogho, also known as Simi Owaire, is a Creative Artist.
The graduate of Creative Art (Graphics specifically) from the University of Lagos says drawing is part of his daily ritual.
“I’m that guy to pick animation over football anytime any day, water over alcohol, evening strolls to clear my head for the day and I’ve seen batman dark knight over 20times (LOL).”
“Growing up as a kid, I spent most of my time indoors drawing while my friends were all outside learning how to ride a bicycle, playing football and anytime I decided to go outside I still didn’t learn how to ride a bike with them, instead I’d use chalks that I got from school to draw on walls. I guess that’s why I still don’t know how to ride a bicycle.”
“I remember in school then I would buy hand writing books and just start illustrating comics of cartoons and movies that I’d seen (LOL) and I sold them for twenty naira (N20) to my friends.”
“While I was in the university I got the opportunity to freelance as an illustrator/cartoonist, I worked for organisations and brands like Spectranet, Lagos State Office of Transformation, May and Baker Nigeria Plc, Friiflow Transmedia Limited etc.”
“After graduating from the University of Lagos, I’ve been working as an art director at Trace TV and still get to do my freelance jobs as an illustrator/videographer.”
“My recent works are (illustrated music cover art for Dj Cuppy, graphic artworks for Efe 2017 BBN winner, lyrics video for Phenom, and shot/edited Afolabi the champ music video titled ‘life.”
“My art is an expression of myself, me doing what I love.”
“Life itself inspires my art, life is beautiful and art is life.”
