Yusuf Abdulrahman Adesola is a Digital Painter. The final year student of Yabatech’s department of graphics says he has always loved to draw.
“I can still recall my first painting with a crayon that wasn’t a class-work; I drew the Nestle’s nutrend mascot, in primary 1, I think.”
“Since then, I always wanted to be a cartoonist. I started digital painting in 2013/14 with my phone using picsart, then I moved to Autodesk sketchbook.”
“In 2016, I started working on photo-shop and started creating photo-manipulations. Since then, my art hasn’t been stable. It’s in this really experimental state I’m willing to test out different materials and software for different results.”
“I feel like since art imitates reality and reality is subject to change, I try to reflect that. I don’t want to settle with one medium and style and keep doing that forever. I want to try out as much medium and style as I can, so it keeps changing.”
“The topic keeps changing; it just doesn’t portray one thing. Today, I might be expressing my views on the society. Tomorrow, I might be creating to express my inner emotions and subconscious.”
He is inspired by the society, anime, his experiences, songs, and art
