Rupa Bhadra

Rupa Bhadra joined as an Advocacy officer with UNAIDS Nigeria in July 2018 where Rupa promotes, supports and collaborates with the key national advocacy partners and the United Nations joint team in the development and implementation of advocacy and communication strategy towards ending AIDS epidemic as part of Sustainable Development Goals. Prior to Nigeria, Rupa was the Programme officer with the UNAIDS Middle East and North Africa Regional office for 6 years, where her major accomplishment was the implementation of the UNAIDS Youth strategy in the region. She collaborated with partners at country level and created space for reinforming a new generation of youth leaders in AIDS response and mobilised resources for youth related activities. She was also engaged in providing technical support for gender and human rights, organized and facilitated high level workshops, and was also engaged more generally in program design, management, monitoring and evaluation. Rupa brings over 10 years’ experience in health and development work at various levels with different organizations in WHO, the Global Fund and UNAIDS in country, regional and global level with a focus on Africa and the Middle East.
