At The Spark, we inspire individuals and organizations to discover, if they have not; develop, if they have discovered and deploy, if they have developed, their talents and potentials. We enlighten and empower them to drive a productive Africa. Here's a few of our favourite members of the Ignite movement with stories on how we've impacted their lives for the better.
As a platform, The Spark is throwing a spotlight on key issues in a way that easily connects with its target audiences without watering down the message. The content quality and breadth of contributors has been quite excellent.
The Spark honestly kickstarted my business properly by providing me with an empowerment grant for the purchase of major equipment which became a game changer for my brand. I’m still and will always be grateful to THE SPARK.
We cannot thank The Spark enough for consistently keeping faith in us since we first launched in 2018. From the initial funding opportunity to product publicity in The Spark Magazine and the recent mentorship opportunity, these are the kind of support that keeps us motivated even in our lowest moments.
Though my meeting with Mr Akinsola Muse was brief (his hands were tied up as we only met him once on set), it was a defining moment for me. My works have been published in international journals and I have some awards to show for it; a major one is the Nikon Africa Photo Contest and I'm currently one of Tecno Mobile Camera Experience Officers. The Spark surely broadened my horizon!
The Spark is strategically positioned as the spring board for great innovation and possibilities for many entrepreneurs through their tangible value dispositions.
The Spark empowered me with the opportunity to intern as a graduate. It provided an opportunity to gain work experience and gave me insights into business management and development.
MSMEs need access to loans, stable power supply, railway cargo and good road access. The Spark is solving this by giving access to networking and information. To succeed, become your best you, evolve your thinking from "we are a third continent" to "we are the best continent".
I love the Soaring series currently ongoing on The Spark and I believe that’s a good way for business leaders to come share their successes and failures so others can learn from it. I believe that “You Can Find an Excuse or You Can Find a Way”.
The Spark is sharing value driven information and celebrating real professionals and enterprenuers and well as pushing new businesses. I believe that "if you want to go faster, go alone. If you want to go farther, carry people along (build a team)".
Young people are really wasting around. Get to work and stop over thinking if your idea will work or not. The Spark is championing and taking ownership of this. You don't always need lots of funding to start. Use what's in your hand, people in your network, family and friends as source of funding, human resource, etc to start.
Access to funding, proper market research, provision of market data and country data are very important to empower MSMEs. This is strongly lacking in Africa. The Spark is doing something right by creating a knowledge bank for the issues that affect SMEs.
The Spark gave me that Spark of hope and sense of direction. It has been an educational and life changing journey for me.
