Peter Obiajulu Igbeaku describes himself as an Upcoming Visual artist.
The student of Fine and Applied Arts discovered his talent in primary school. “Then, my drawings were mostly images from children’s Bible story books and other story books. I wasn’t drawing with the mindset of becoming an artist in the future, because my desire then was to become an engineer. My mindset changed in Primary Six when I met Ernest Okeoma, a Nigerian professional artist that had his studio close to my area. His artworks inspired the desire of becoming an artist in me. l kept visiting his studio and at the same time doing my personal practice based on what I observed from his artworks, even when he relocated. I still practice to become better, even now that I am studying Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.”
On what inspires him, he says, “The desire to extremely represent what I see exactly the way it is, on my working space inspires my art, that is, I am aiming towards hyperrealism in my art.
