Date: Wednesday, September 13
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Tottenham are in the Champions’ League group stages for the third time, tt is the first time they have reached this stage in consecutive seasons. On the flip side, this is Borussia Dortmund’s 12th appearance in the Champions League – only Bayern Munich can boast more among German clubs. Dortmund are unbeaten this season, with a German Cup win over Rielasingen-Arlen and two wins and a draw in the Bundesliga.
The pressure will be on Tottenham to get off to a quick start in the Champions League when they host Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. Spurs have been handed a tough group that also contains defending champions Real Madrid and may find themselves playing catch-up if they do not begin with a home win.
They will take on the German side without Dele Alli, though Dortmund have a number of absences of his own to contend with. They are particularly short at full-back due to the absences of Erik Durm, Raphael Guerreiro and Marcel Schmezler as well as Marc Bartra.
