New reports say suspected Boko Haram terrorists raided villages in Girei Local Government of Adamawa State, leaving scores dead.
It was initially reported that the deadly attacks on Girei Local Government of Adamawa State, were carried out by Fulani herdsmen. However, new accounts by eyewitness, say suspected terrorists were responsible for the attacks.
According to the eyewitness accounts made to Channels Television, there was an exchange of fire between the Nigerian military and the attackers who retreated into the bushes.
The villages affected were Koh, Demsare, Tabongo, Fawure, Noyine and Ndikajam. Those who survived were were seen going through the rubble in hope of finding remains of dead relations and property, the reports say.
There were also accounts that the DPO of Viniklang Police Division was killed in the raid.
