Awhum Waterfall

Looking for Mystery? The Awhum waterfall and cave in Enugu, sets the tone for an adventurous film with a horror undertone. From the tall walls of the cave, softened by the stream of clear water meandering from the active waterfall, to the mysterious statue of the Virgin Mary in this ancient cave, the Awhum waterfall provides the perfect scene for an adventurous/horror/mystery film. ‘Egg of Life’ anyone?

Osun-Osogbo grove

Trying to make a movie that will scare the heck out of audiences? Try shooting at the Osun-Osogbo grove. This location which is characterized with life-like and charismatic figurines and statues believed to be created by and representing ancestors, is a ready-made set for some diabolical drama that is certain to frighten the wits out of audiences. Convincing actors to fraternize with this location and its features may be an uphill task though.

Ngwo Pine Forest

Just like a scene from the Little Red Riding Hood, this location which is a pine forest near the center of Enugu that hosts a limestone cave sculpted with a small waterfall that forms a shallow pool at the bed of the cave sets the scene for a perfectly frightening predator-prey chase. From its mysteriously towering pines to the captivating patterns created by this forest, the location is sure to be any cinematographer’s dream.

Ancient Kano City Walls

Searching for something old school, the Ancient Kano City Walls which were ancient defensive walls built to protect the inhabitants of the ancient city of Kano between 1095 through 1134 provide the perfect setting for a film set in 14th century Nigeria. The clay walls built like castles, and the ethnic features of the artifacts that surround this location, will take audiences to a completely different time zone.

Lagos Island

We cannot talk about perfect film locations, without mentioning Lagos Island. This concrete jungle is perfect for a movie that will depict the modern and fast-paced urbanization of Nigeria. Just like the streets of New York, Lagos Island has it all – from the busy streets to the high-rise buildings, the traffic, and of course the beautiful view of the ocean. It is the perfect setting for a Wall street inspired movie.
