Nigerian Celebrities To Go On A Charity Match Against Malaria

The match is scheduled to take place on Eid-el-Fitri day in July on the Astro Turf pitch at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

It was gathered that the celebrities would be grouped in two teams, and each team would be managed by veteran actors, Antar Laniyan and Victor Osuagwu respectively.

Some of the celebrities that will entertain spectators during the match powered by Amatem are Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Kelvin Ikeduba, Aki & Pawpaw, AY, Basketmouth, Ali Baba Akpororo and Bovi.

Others include Don Jazzy, Iyanya, Kcee, Terry G, D’banj, Davido, WizKid, Bracket and Harrysong, while the supporters will be headed by Helen Paul, Toyin Aimakhu, Rachael Oniga, Ibinabo Fiberesima and Mercy Johnson.

Fans of the celebrities are expected to watch the novelty match with a token of N500 as the proceeds will be donated to charity and orphanage homes. It is initiated by Healthy Lifestyle Awareness Sustenance Group and Anton Pillier Multi-Services Ltd in conjunction with Prince Ifeanyi Dike.

In an exclusive chat with a Naij.com correspondent, Prince Ifeanyi Dike, who is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), said there are on-going efforts to ensure that celebrities who participate in the match get 50 percent discounts from Air Peace on all their flight tickets.

“Hankook Batteries is also one of our supporters, and we want them to give every artiste their product, while Legend Green Tea will make a one-year supply to the celebrities. Our primary aim is to give back to the society with this match and at the same time have fun,” Prince Dike stated.

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease of humans and other animals. Symptoms of the disease include fever, fatigue, vomiting and headaches and in severe cases it can cause yellow skin, seizures, coma or death.
