Seye Ogunlewe remains Nigeria’s fastest man after defending his national 100m title on Friday at the ongoing All Nigeria Championships in Sapele Delta state.
The sprinter beat the likes of Divine Oduduru (who ran 10.25secs) and Egwero Ogho-Oghene (10.36secs) as he ran a new personal best of 10.12secs to retain his crown and also book a place in the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Ogunlewe said after the race, “I give thanks to God for making this possible, winning the 100m event again and qualifying for the Olympics is a dream come true,” the UK-based athlete stated.
Ogunlewe with a time of 21.28secs also won one of the finals of the men’s 200m event.
In the women’s events, Blessing Okagbare also completed a sprint double; winning the women 200m event (Final A) with a time of 22.78secs, after winning her seventh 100m Women’s title earlier in the day
