Ekemini-Abasi Amos Fred, also known as Minike Dref, is a multidisciplinary creative.
Currently based in Calabar, he describes himself as one constantly searching for new ways to express himself and create art that educates, entertains and inspires people.”
Talking about how he started, he says, “I come from an art oriented family. Dad was a decorator and Mum did a bit of illustrations and handcraft. So it’s natural I picked up from them. I did a lot of illustrations growing up.”
“however, I started designing in 2013, a friend was about releasing a song and he needed a cover art so I picked up the challenge to design for him and from there everything kicked off.”
On what inspires him, “I’m inspired by everything around me, from the people to music; everything is a source of inspiration. You just have to let it flow.”
“I’ve been inspired by a couple of people from Duks arts, Niyi Okeowo, Joe Perez, Uche Ugo and a host of others who have played a huge role in my growth as a creative.”
