Talking about how he started, he had this to say, “I started my creative career at a tender age inspired by Mr. Majeed Issah musical creative work. After my secondary school days, I enrolled into an IT institute for formal training on Web and Graphic Design and after classes, I used to resume at Media Pictures Nigeria Limited for practical and hands-on training on graphics design, branding, printing, and packaging.”

“I then proceeded to The Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State to obtain a National and Higher National Diploma in Computer Science respectively.”

“While in school, I was the Hall Chairman of the ABOS Residential Hall, Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State and Vice President Project of Junior Chamber International (JCI), Federal Polytechnic Ede Chapter.”

“I became the Editor-in-Chief of JCI Exposure Magazine because I always aspire to inspire people through my art which I believe art is a viable means of peace and sustainable development in contemporary Nigeria.”

“Because of my flair for continuous education, I furthered to study Computer Science at the Ajayi Crowther University where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree.”

“I am a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative Network, YouthLead, Amnesty International, Junior Chamber International (JCI), Global Entrepreneurship Network, World Youth Forum and the Young Business Leaders of Nigeria.”

“I have also worked with an international community-based organization on international programmes. I volunteer at the United Nations Volunteers, ROTA Volunteers and Junior Chamber International (JCI) where I contribute my quota to national growth and global development.”

“I have volunteered as a creative designer on digital sexuality education awareness for several groups including UNFPA, UNESCO, and UNICEF.”

Taiwo Afolayan draws inspiration from the ordinary; the good, bad and ugly with an underlying understanding that there is an invisible thread that binds us all.

“I also follow the lead of prominent and successful entrepreneurs like Mrs. Ibukun Awosika (Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria), Mr. Kunle Afolayan (CEO, Golden Effects Pictures and Creative Director, Ire Clothing), Mr. Steve Babaeko (CEO, X3M Ideas), Mr. Shola Animashaun (CEO, Shola Animashaun Photography), Oloba Maroof Afolayan (CEO, Almaroof Media Network), AJEBO (House of Ajebo), Mr. Adebola Williams (Pan-African Entrepreneur), Mrs. Ajoke Silva (Co-Founder, LUFODO), Mr. Aboyeji Iyinoluwa (Co-Founder, Flutterwave), Hon. Otunba Akin Alabi (Founder, NairaBet), Ms Uchenna Agbo (CEO, TrustVAS) and a whole lot of others home and abroad through motivational speeches, quotes, and books.”

Designing Junior Chamber International Magazine was a major venture that Taiwo engaged in that increased his confidence in his skills.

“Politics and entrepreneurial attractions are the two major factors that drove me to initiate and single-handedly design Junior Chamber International (an exposure magazine), where I invited other people that shared the same values with me to participate in.”

“The objective of this innovative outlet was to engage students of The Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State and other students in different higher institutions of learning in Nigeria to be active citizens.”

“Our aim was for the students to participate in grass-roots politics in order to be informed about the latest political decisions so as to call their respective leaders to account.”

“This idea was conceived when I saw the state of degradation of educational facilities in my community and later discovered that resources were allocated by the government but got mismanaged by those who were saddled with the responsibility of distributing these resources.”

Youth Empowerment is an aspect I really enjoy doing which brought about Argitech Academy collaborating with Junior Chamber International (JCI) 2019 Tech Academy, which is a programming boot camp for young students within the ages of 13 – 18 years.”

“The academy empowers on the basics of coding through real-world and hands-on software development for four (4) days held 15th -to- 18th April 2019 at the Center for Information Technology Service (CITS), University of Lagos, Nigeria.”

Now, he is looking for opportunities to access funding and learning resources to expand his business and gain new knowledge and skills that will increase the value he brings to the marketplace and fulfilling the desires of his prospective clients.

“Youth Empowerment,” to him, “is having a powerful potential in our youth, and we must have the courage to change old ideas and practices so that we may direct our power toward good ends.”

“I enjoy focusing on the topics on entrepreneurship, self-development and have a strong passion for youth empowerment.”

“I am an ROI Africa Global Youth Ambassador Fellow, The Netherlands Education Group Youth Ambassador and Global Goodwill Ambassador for my leadership, expertise and entrepreneurial experience on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through promoting entrepreneurship, quality education, and innovation.”
