Oluwaseun Adesuyi is an event planner and Managing Director at Schon Events, “we execute events from conception to the end i.e. plan, coordinate, organize and manage social and corporate events by taking the stress off my clients by transforming their imagination into reality and creating lasting memories.” Oluwaseun says.
She got into event planning while still in University. “I loved anything events, and after NYSC I decided to learn events management because I love helping, organizing and taking care of people. So far it’s been a great experience.” the entrepreneur adds.
Being new in the industry was a major challenge for the event planner. “A major challenge was getting clients, no one wanted to trust a new event planner with their events but as time went on, we started getting clients by convincing them on why they needed an Event planner” she said.
“Some people think its more about getting all the vendors and party is all done but we put a lot of work into making sure very event comes out right from sourcing for the right venue and vendors to suit the clients brief to the entire operations, crisis management, people management and much more.We know the importance of Digital Marketing in Events Management, people have to know the brand and we always have to be out there.”
Oluwaseun’s inspiration comes from her family and mentor whom she describes as her support system.
Successfully planning and executing a graduation dinner for a school within a short period of time was a project that further deepened her self belief. “The graduands, parents and the management of the school were really glad and had a swell time, I bet they would never forget it in a hurry, we sure created memories to last forever.” she adds.
On youth empowerment, Oluwaseun said, “partnership with NGO to empower youth out there. You can be a boss of your own and be successful at it, juggle it up with your career. They have to be skilled in different areas no matter what they studied in University. You can be a Doctor and still be a Fashion designer. Youth Empowerment can never be over emphasized,it would make the society a better place.”
