Olalekan Odunbori, also known as Lekanskillz, is a painter and clothier that love to tell stories with his works.
He started as a kid when he discovered that he could draw and since then, he has been doing art and involved in fashion.
Olalekan draws inspiration from Yoruba culture and happenings around him.
When asked about a venture he undertook that made him believe in himself, he has this to say, “In 2016, I started my clothing line and I used some of my artworks as the designs printed on t-shirts which was sold to many customers.”
Now, because he loves fashion so much and wants to bring art into it to make it dynamic and fun, he is open to getting grant to set up his wearable art business.
“Youth empowerment is very crucial in building a nation’s economy,” he believes. “Nigerian youths are hardworking and creative but they don’t have the resources to set up a proper business. If they can be mentored and given grants to start their businesses, that will not only reduce the rate of unemployment in the country but also put food on many people’s tables and help many business ideas become a reality.”
