Kayode Muyiwa Emmanuel, also known as Kaysketch, is a Photographer, Graphics Designer and an Artist.
When asked about how he started, he says, “I got started on my present career path due to my perseverance and steadfast attitude. I would say failure set my feet back but I have been back on track and it’s been God this far.”
He admitted to facing a few challenges on the way; “capital, getting materials (availability of materials), work space, balancing school and work together.”
He draws his inspiration from our culture. “The African culture, the black nation, our strength, belief, hair-do and all really inspire my art.”
When asked about the project he has engaged in that increased his belief in himself, he mentioned doing a series of exhibition and they all boosted his confidence. “But most especially, the “Coal City Art Exhibition (The unspoken words)” 2017 held in Universal Hotel, Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria, assured me that I am on the right path.”
And looking forward, he is hoping for the opportunity to participate in more exhibitions that would take his art global.
Kayode also voiced his opinion on youth empowerment. “Categorically speaking, I believe youth empowerment is one of the major steps that should be taken in order for youths to harness their different talents and be better to the society.”
“Nigerian youths can be empowered through efficient empowerment programmes like; scholarships, internships, skill acquisition programmes and also a platform to showcase & exhibit their skills and talent.”
