Godgift Nwankwo is an entrepreneur who processes and packages plantain flour.
“Challenged by unemployment and the need to have multiple income, and coming from a community with lots of agricultural products, I decided to convert plantain to flour to meet the need of the growing population of diabetes patients who must” swallow” but not carbohydrate,” he says in answer to the question of when he started his business.
He draws inspiration from his pastor who he mentioned always tells him to solve problems in order to be successful.
Speaking on a project he ventured in that made him believe in himself, Godgift says, “I started a nursery /primary school known as Prime Potters International School. I have flare for teaching even if I did not study Education. I have been teaching people in their homes with positive results.”
Moving forward, “I am looking forward to expanding the food processing business to increase the market share of my product beyond the local market where I currently supply just one customer.”
He also gave his opinion on youth empowerment. “Youth empowerment is the surest way out of growing number of unemployed youth and high crime rate.”
“The Nigerian youth can be empowered by training those who have shown willingness to do something meaningful and providing funds and enabling environment for those with entrepreneurial skills and ideas.”
