Kogi state Police have apprehended a man who allegedly stabbed his wife to death over feeding allowance.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Yahaya Abubakar, who represented the state police commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu, pointed out that detectives from the Homicide Section of the Okehi Police Division, Okehi Local Government Area of the state, arrested the suspect over the murder of his 29-year-old wife, Falilat Saka Garba.
According to him, the case was reported to the police by one Obavidi Momoh Salami.
He added that the suspect admitted that he stabbed his wife during argument over housekeep allowance.
Abubakar further explained that the man would be charged to court as soon as the autopsy result is received.
While being paraded, Garba told newsmen that his wife slapped him over his inability to meet her N4,000 request on that fateful day.
According to him, “We quarreled over the money. We were eating and she demanded for money. I had N2,000, minus the N500 we used to eat that night.
“She had never raised her hand against me before, but that day, she got up and slapped me. She demanded N4,000 but I did not have up to that amount.
“My wife had been advising me to go into robbery because my work brings in pittance, but I always urged her to be patient.” Garba said.
