Lukaku & Rashford get the goals as the Red Devils down Man City in Houston


Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford were on the scoresheet as Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 in the first Manchester derby to be played outside of the UK, the rivals finally met in an International Champions Cup match in Houston, Texas, on Thursday night.

Lukaku scored his goal in the 37th minute as he rounded new Man City goalkeeper Ederson before shooting into an open net.

Two minutes later, it was the turn of Rashford – who doubled United’s lead as he slotted into a tight angle to seal the victory and record his 3rd pre-season goal so far.

Romelu Lukaku was voted Man of the Match.

Both teams face the same opponent in their next ICC match – Real Madrid. United are the first to take on the La Liga side at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday 23 July, while City have a slightly longer wait for their next game, playing Real in the early hours of Thursday 27 July at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
