The maiden edition of Kiddies Olympics, which is organised by Klozit Limited in collaboration with Lagos State Universal Education Board (SUBEB) for public schools, has been fixed to hold from October 26 to 30 with more than 2,300 participants and 300 officials.
It will feature such events as football, track and field, scrabble, table tennis and handball at the two venues, including the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere and Rowe Park Sports Complex, Yaba.
According the Head, Project Management Committee (PMT), Mr. Nurudeen Aluko, a total of 322 medals would be up for grabs in the one-week tournament supported by the Lagos State Sports Commission and Lagos State Football Association.
Aluko, who said he hopes that the corporate bodies in the state would join hands in celebrating the children and the nation at large, said: “We are planning a glamorous opening and closing ceremonies where dignitaries in Nigerian sports and the society at large will be invited.”
National President of SUBEB Sport Directors and Sports Director, Lagos SUBEB, Prince Olu Akapo, disclosed that the organisers planned to adopt Exponent 21 for the games.
