Keeping up with President Muhammadu Buhari is no small task, he’s always doing something but yesterday, he did more talking and like has been the trend when he does, he blames someone for something (I didn’t mean it like that).
President Buhari yesterday blamed wicked manipulators for the escalation of fuel subsidies and wondered why the oil sector has been mismanaged into a cesspool of corruption.
Buhari was quoted in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. “They (past administrations) allowed the infrastructure to collapse so that their cronies can steal by bringing in refined products from overseas,”
In another situation, he spoke about why Nigerians in Diaspora can’t vote during elections yet during the 2015 Diaspora Day held at the Old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, themed: ‘Diaspora and Nigeria’s Change Agenda.
The president who was represented by Vice president Osinbajo said legislation, huge finance, and confidence in the electoral system were required before diaspora voting can commence.
All that happened yesterday. Today, the president will be meting with the MD and top management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) following an audit report by the Office of the Auditor-General of the federation.
Mr. Bassey Dan Abia will lead the NDDC delegation who are said to be apprehensive of an impending sack owing to allegation of misappropriation of funds.
