Onucheyo Etubi, also known as “mumu illustrator” is an artist who started drawing when he was a kid. “The only thing is I decided to make it into a day job. Apart from art I like getting into random shenanigans with friends.”

The Kano state born graduate of UNN says about his art, “I haven’t come up with a name or genre for the work I do at the moment but I think it borders heavily on surrealism and African motifs. Professionally, I have been at it for about 8 years now. I started in 2010 when I met a couple individuals (Mohammed Agbadi, Harrison Yinfaowei, Ifesinachi Orjiekwe and Bolaji Olaloye) with like-minds and drive. We decided to practice and become better at the craft and today even though I am mainly a freelancer, I do art consulting for a studio in Abuja, where I am free!”

A lot of thing inspire him; “feelings, life, food, but mainly everything animated, from Disney to anime. My art friends as well play a big part in my work and then all the artists I look up to.”
