Adeoluwa Okusaga, also known as Sagart, is a Hyper-realistic Pencil Portrait Artist.
“I am a per time hyper-realistic pencil portrait artist, huge art lover, from visual art to music, drama and applied art. I have had no formal art training as I am an offshore field engineer with a background in electrical engineering.”
“I have always loved art for as long as I can remember but I started drawing officially in Sep 2015. I planned to give my pastor my art as a gift, but to my surprise on presenting the gift, she burst into tears. That was the moment I knew I had something very special that I needed to explore. I have been drawing practically every day since then.”
When asked about what his art portrays, Adeoluwa says, “Recently, I have been creating art of public figures that I respect or have a personal opinion about so I try to use my art to voice them out. Like my artwork of Mr President, my artwork of the Black Panther and my artwork of Nigerian renowned afro beats drummer Tony Allen. I am also in the beginning stages of my first art series titled secret sins which hopes to address/bring to light our struggles with our inner demons.”
“I draw inspiration from happenings in my immediate environment, like I literally draw energy from my emotions and things happening around me. Due to the nature of my Job, I find myself drawing at awkward times, even when I don’t feel like it. So I have to apply however I am feeling at the moment or sometimes the mood of the people around me to create.”
