The Super Eagles have continued to fall in global football rankings, this time, dropping nine places further to 70th. The latest FIFA World Rankings released yesterday, also shows the Eagles have lost their 12th place position in the continent and now occupy the 17th position with 514 points.
The Eagles have continued to endure a free fall in the rankings and were 61st in the month of June and 12th in the continent. Despite wins over Mali and Luxembourg in recent international friendlies, the drop has continued.
Algeria, who are in Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying group, still remains Africa’s top ranked team and are 32nd in the world. The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire are second in the continent and 35th in the world, while Ghana’s Black Stars are rated third best in Africa and 36th in the world, with Senegal fourth and 41st in the world.
