Chelsea 4-3 Watford
Chelsea triumphed in last night’s 7-goal thriller. After clinching the title away at West Brom on Friday, the Blues could afford to give fringe players the opportunity of a runout. Conte made nine changes to his last team, starting players like Kenedy, Ake, Chalobah, and outgoing captain John Terry.
Terry in the 22nd scored the club’s 100th goal of the season. The joy was plain to see in the eyes of the club legend. Watford were able to equalise through an uncharacteristic Terry error.
Michy Batshuayi with his second goal In consecutive games, added to the scoring just minutes into the half.
Watford’s Daryl Janmaat with a nice individual effort cut down the deficit, bringing the game into touch for his side. Stefano Okaka made the game 3-3. His equaliser came as a result of miscommunication in the opposition defence.
With their 29th win of the season the Blues equalled the premier league record for wins in a season, a feat they achieved twice from 2004-2006. A new record is in sight as they host Sunderland on Sunday, the last day of the season.
