Damilola Adedotun Adeniyi, also known as DMC (Dami Mr Creative), is a creative, who prior to starting art, had no major knowledge in art.
The graduate of Business Administraion from Babcock University started professionally in 2016.
“I started my art career fully in 2016. Prior to that, I had no major knowledge in art. I was just one of those kids that always drew on my books and always trying to be like my elder brother who used to be very good at drawing wrestling characters. The interest then grew so I became the go to guy when you needed to get something drawn.”
“I looked up to many great artisst and was constantly amazed by their level of creativity. I knew I could do it and with a little push from friends I started to push to develop myself and my skills. At this point, I had worked in a series of 9 to 5 jobs without a major sense of development both mentally and financially.”
“I initially started pencil illustrations, but I decided to challenge myself more and practice oil and acrylic paintings and even body ART, I developed my skills rapidly and began to build a brand of my own, called DMC ART studios. Because I have a major sense of design, I have worked with brands like JUSTNCASE and other major brands.”
“I like call myself a concept artist, because I work with different concepts, never limiting my creativity.”
“I feel my art is versatile, because I always like to try new ideas, concepts and materials. But I always portray the uniqueness of our African heritage by telling stories with pieces. I want the world to be able to see the beauty of the African ways and what we represent as well as challenges we may face as a people.”
Dami Mr Creative draws his inspiration from everything around him. “I travel often and new environments always inspire and influence my art. Also from the culture, moral values and the beauty of the black race.”
