Chelsea set to make Eden Hazard highest paid player in England

Eden Hazard is poised to agree a £300,000 a week deal to make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.

Hazard could give the green light to the deal when he returns from international duty with Belgium in a couple of weeks once some minor details are sorted out.

And it will end any fading hopes that La Liga giants Real Madrid had of tempting him to the Spanish capital certainly for the immediate future.

Hazard, 26, is under contract until 2020 and picks up around £220,000 a week but the new contract will see him earn more than Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

The French midfielder is on £290,000 a week but Chelsea see Hazard as vital to their future plans and are willing to spend big to keep him happy.

The former Lille man is now returning to full fitness after suffering an ankle injury in training while on international duty at the start of the season.
