Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly close to signing a new contract at the club, according to Skysports in Italy.
The Italian still has two years left on his current contract but will be rewarded with improved terms as a show of faith in him after guiding the club to it’s fourth Premier League title in his first season.
The new deal comes with improved earnings of around £10m a year, making him the highest paid manager in the clubs history. Last week, reports were rife that the former Juventus manager was frustrated with the working conditions made available by the club, especially in terms of summer signings. However, the management have insisted that Conte is happy at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are set to return to the Champions League next season, and Conte would expect a follow up of summer recruits as soon as his new deal is completed.
