“I started art when I was a kid, drawing cartoon animations and all. I took it up professionally in 2016 with a picture of my pastor; it was at that time my best piece until I developed myself gradually by practicing more. I would say it was really challenging doing art without a coach but to God be the glory, I am not where I used to be. I have done lots of commissioned and opened art for people and am presently working towards my first solo exhibition.

Speaking on how he gets inspiration, he says, “most times it depends on the happenings around me, it could be MUSIC, EMOTION but a lot of time, it’s EVENTS in the society.”

Opemipo believes recognition should be given to art as well as supporting promising Nigerian creatives.

“It could be a source of empowerment as well as a medium of preaching peace across the world if they could reward creative but voiceless artists like what was recently done for Waris Kareem from Lagos who was recently discovered.”
