Brazil’s Ronaldo better than Cristiano Ronaldo, says Ibrahimovic

Manchester United forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has declared that Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t as good as Brazil legend Ronaldo de Lima was during his time as a footballer.

Ronaldo, nicknamed II Fenomeno won titles with Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Barcelona and also won the World Cup twice with Brazil as well as two Copa America titles. He was also a three-time FIFA World Player of the Year, in a stellar career.

Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is regarded as one of the best footballers of all time by many football lovers but Ibrahimovic believes his talent isn’t natural but ‘a result of training’ compared to de Lima.

“I think Ronaldo, Il Fenomeno, was the best,” Ibrahimovic said to ESPN Brasil.

“He was an example of what football is. Everything he did was like ‘wow’. The way he dribbled, the way he ran.

“He was not made. Ronaldo was natural. He was born to be what he was. It was not something he trained to become.”

“This type of player is not made, he is born. He is unique.”

The former Swede international, went further to compare Cristiano to his former team-mate Ronaldinho adding that CR7 doesn’t possess the same natural skill as Ronaldinho.

“We played together at AC Milan, but he did not live the best days as before, but I loved it when we played and he was running with his hair messed up, dribbling fast and when he wanted to, he made others look like kids around him.

“As for Cristiano Ronaldo, we did not play together.

“It is different because he is the result of hard training. It is not natural,” Ibrahimovic said.
