Arsenal have completed the signing of Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette after he rounded up a medical at the club earlier today. The deal is worth around £45m.
The 26-year-old France International had been on the London club’s radar for years now, and it had looked like he was on his way to Atletico Madrid earlier in the summer before a transfer ban on the club had scuppered the deal.
The fee will rise to around £52m after considering add-ons to become the new record transfer fee at the club, canceling out the £42m paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.
Lacazette scored 129 goals in 275 games for Lyon since breaking into the first team in the 2009-2010 season.
The striker has 11 caps for France and will become Arsenal’s second summer signing after Saed Kolasinac joined from Schalke on a free transfer.
